There are many different CFD platforms available now as more providers
enter the Marketplace. This is making it very competitive and most are
offering incentives for your business. This can include:
- A
free trial
for a short
period
- Free
training
sessions on
how to use the
product
- Free
charting
packages
In the article "Choosing
a CFD Trading Platform"
I have outlined the key issues for you to evaluate a CFD platform.
Below are links to well known CFD providers.
MARKETMAKERS
There are differences between Marketmakers, and you should READ the
Product Disclosure Statement carefully to identify them. The terms of
Service varies with the provider. These can and do change over time.
The competition in the marketplace to obtain and keep clients is
undoubtedly a major factor in this dynamic market.

CMC is a Marketmaker as the software platform name implies. They have
made
significant improvements to their platform this year and
now provide extensive training and charting facilities to their
clients.
IG markets advised that they do support the order placements by buying
or selling shares in the market, but that it is not a straight through
process and occurs after the initial action is completed.
GFT Forex is a US platform and can offer it via a downloadable
program Dealbook 360 or a Web Browser Dealbook Web. As its name
indicates it was developed to trade Forex, and CFD's have been added to
it. They also provide an excellent charting package for technical
analysis when trading. They offer training and additional services such
as Di Napoli Fibonacci methods to customers for a fee.
City index is another major provider of CFD's in Australia. Originally
established in London it has been in Australia for a few years now. It
has its own web based platform and offers a wide variety of products
including: Forex, Global Indices, and
Shares on the major Stock Exchanges. I have an account with them.
The
list
below are using
a common
platform from the SAXO Bank in Denmark with their own "Front Ends". The
SAXO Bank platform is excellent and provides a very good range of
charting facilities for use by the customer. I am not sure if they
offer a Marketmaker model and a Direct Market Access model. This may
depend on the particular provider.
